but it pops up with 'you need windows 2000 service pack 3'. Can anyone help please?

If you don't feel like paying a lot of money for MS Office you can try OpenOffice, a very good and free office suite. If you want just some spreadsheat software, you can try Gnumeric.

This is an excel file. In order to get it to open you will either have to download excel or do what the error message says and download the service pack.

In order for the free xls viewer to work, you need to have SP3 on your computer. Free download from Microsoft...

The viewers from MS should do it. Unless you are using an actual Excel copy. The Viewers are design for non-office users
