Hi Jenn...consider Nature's Miracle "Just For Cats" (not plain Nature's Miracle) found worldwide at most pet stores. It's an enzymatic neutralizer which works by breaking down urine proteins by thoroughly soaking the areas affected and allowing to air dry. Repeated applications are necessary for heavily soiled areas.

Nature's Miracle Just For Cats product info: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441775019&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302025596&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023690&bmUID=1167132360710&itemNo=0&Ntt=nature%27s+miracle+just+for+cats&In=All&previousText=nature%27s+miracle+just+for+cats&N=2

We've tested nearly all enzyme neutralizers available in the marketplace for our exotic cats which have stronger urine than domestic cats and found that Nature's Miracle Just for Cats has always worked the best.

Boy have I had experience with this one. First, have someone else do it. Pregnant women should not change litter boxes, etc. Use an enzyme product without using anything else first! It works much better that way. Nature's Miracle and Urinegone are good. There are many others, which can be found at the vet, and at all pet stores or even pet departments in larger stores like Meijer, Walmart, etc. Soak it all up good first with a towel, then saturate the area and let it dry. It might take a couple of tries but that should do it.

Go to the pet or grocery store & pick up an enzyme product labelled specifically for cat odors - Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution (cats) work well. Follow the instructions on the bottle.

Your cat may be stressed out because of the changes going on in your household due to the baby coming - try to spend a little time with the cat every day & give him or her a little attention & stick to a routine as much as possible (easier said than done, I know!).

Try Urinegone (not real sure of the spelling). I saw it advertised on TV. You might be able to find it online. I had a problem with a male cat that didn't belong to me marking in my garage when I would leave it cracked for my own cats. He sprayed my cat door which made the inside of my house smell. Urinegone actually worked. I just sprayed the area and left it. When it dryed the odor was gone and there was no pee left on the door. I didn't have to scrub it.

Wow cat pee is hard to get out....you can use Rosemay and lavender oil mix equal parts and spray on the thoughly cleaned area.....this will help from your cat marking the area again. you must spray it 2 times a day for a week and then once a day for 2 weeks and then once a week to keep the kitty from pottying in that room. Your cat is exhibiting this behavior because she is probably trying to get your attention. Try spending extra time with her/him.... I have used this mixture with my male cat Harley and it works! it is time consuming but it will work....good luck with both your cat and your new baby! Oh and since you are pregnant you should 1. have someone clean the area since you potentially can be harmed from cat urine or feces and 2. have someone else mix the essential oils as they can harm some pregnant women when using a mixing....again good luck

First, don't clean this yourself! There is a toxoplasma germ that you could catch (very rare, but still) that will give you a bad flu like illness that could be harmful to you and the baby.
The best way to tackle this smell is with a strong citrus based cleaner. This will take care of the odor, clean out any leftover urine, and hopefully create a residual scent that will deter the cat from going there again.
There are some good points to having a cat around when your newborn comes home. Its been proven that exposure to pets early on helps reduce the chances for allergies later on -- to not only pets, but pollen, ragweed and other common outdoor allergies. Pets also help children -- even as young as toddlers -- to develop social, interaction and verbal skills more quickly.
Congratulations on your soon to be addition to the family. Hope this helps. --Andy

Have you tried Natures Miracle? You can buy it at a pet store and it works pretty good. You have to make sure you soak the area with it so it goes as far as the pee soaked. Use a fan aimed at the spot to help it dry faster.

1. get someone else to clean it since it could have potential harm to your unborn baby.
2. try oxi clean or resolve for pets. both work well.
