Eat them!!! Then you will hear and feel the gas come out of them!!!!

Beans can be difficult to digest; the result can be flatulence and sometimes constipation.

To make them easier to digest, soak dry beans overnight and rinse them well before cooking. You want to give them as much moisture as possible.

Whether cooking with dried or canned beans, be sure to cook them really really well. If your beans are undercooked, they are more difficult to digest.

Soothe the digestive tract by cooking the beans with enough oil or at least serving them with some (not too much) oily foods. This can be simply using enough oil or ghee when cooking or serving with other fat-rich foods. We're not talking about excess here, just use caution not to be a fat-free Nazi when you're working with beans. The reason beans are difficult on the GI tract is that they have rough and dry qualities that your body has to compensate for, so think of oliating the system to ease them through. This also counterbalances problems.

Lastly, use digestive herbs as seasonings: cumin, coriander, ginger, etc.

Clean rinse and then soak with 1 teaspoon baking soda for at least 6 hours or overnight prior to rinsing and cooking with 2 tablespoons Olive oil. This will not only eliminate the gas but give your softer beans.

To totally eliminate gas from beans, my husband always cooks dry beans (black, kidney, pinto, you name it) by adding shredded cabbage (use a double hand full) added at the beginning of cooking He also adds a small onion at the first and after cooking for a few hours, the small pieces of cabbage and onion can hardly been found. You cannot taste the cabbage and the onion is very mild.

Try this method....it really works for us.

During soaking and throughout cooking, rinse the beans often. This will help wash away the enzymes that cause the gas.

Do you mean what causes the gas or how do you reduce the amount of gas that beans cause in your digestive system?

You can't remove the amino acids that cause gas, but you can add foods that have complimentary amino acids that bond with the gas acids and make them harmless. Beans are an incomplete protein, but if you add something like rice to the mix, it provides chemicals that complete the protein molecules. Complete protein won't cause gas.

if you are using dry beans, add some baking soda to the water. that helps a little

You eat them! actually, this always works for my aunt: she boils a potato in the beans when she cooks them, and supposedly it absorbs the gas causing compounds, which works great...except for the time my uncle ate the potato!!!!!!

Dry beans you are supposed to soak them overnight and rinse them really well.
