There was to be alot of question about rather jesus was black, white or of middle eastern descent when it came to that movie, but when it comes to the passion of the christ or any other movie where jesus is portrayed as a white man noone seems to care or want to debate his color. Dont tell me that his color doesn't or shouldn't matter, because i agree, my issue is it doesn't matter only when jesus is white. it seems to matter in this case when he's black! Color of the Cross was said to be "Controversial"

Jesus was Jewish, he most likely had a darker complexion than all the WASPs out there, as well as other Jewish characteristics. It really would make no difference if he were purple, he would still be Jesus. FEET

I agree, that's always bugged me. Same with the whole Adam and Eve portrayal, but that's another story. If we're talking about historical accuracy here, it's more likely that Jesus was black than that he was a white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes. (On that same note, why does Jesus always have to have long hair in the movies and books, while everyone around him has short hair?). And if we're not talking about historical accuracy, then why should people get all offended over Jesus being portrayed as black? He was supposed to be all things to all people. I think Jesus wouldn't have been offended. I haven't seen Color of the Cross, but it sounds interesting. I didn't know a movie had been made where Jesus was black. Yeah for whoever made it!

It's an issue when Jesus is portrayed as anything except what we're comfortable with. How many "pictures" have you seen of Jesus where he's portrayed as blue-eyed with light brown hair? If he was born in Bethlehem, nothing could be further from the truth. We're talking black hair, dark eyes and olive complexion. People portray Jesus as they would like him to be, he's just never been portrayed as someone with really dark skin and that causes the controversy.

because there were slaves only 150 years ago, and segregation only 50 years ago. So the race thing had to be a cover up perpetrated by the church to make Jesus white. Since everyone is so used to seeing him as such, seeing Christ as a black male seems taboo to some. Either way, I agree...Jesus could look like Fred Flinstone and I wouldn't care.

do not decrease the hair on the facets of your head or clip off the sides of your beard. ~ Leviticus 19:27 do not think of that I even have come to abolish the regulation or the Prophets; I even have not come to abolish them yet to fulfill them. ~ Matthew 5:17 (Jesus Christ) If Christ got here to fulfill the regulation then he could have adhered to the regulation in Leviticus and hence would not have decrease the hair on the facets of his head or clip off the sides of the beard. He had no attractiveness or majesty to appeal to us to him, not something in his visual appeal that we ought to consistently choose him. ~ Isaiah fifty 3:2 The scripture above is prophesying approximately Christ. So what ever Christ appeared like as a guy he exchange into not appropriate or appropriate in visual appeal. God purposely did not demonstrate Jesus' complete visual appeal in scripture so as that it would not reason conflict between races and peoples appearances. God is love not conceitedness.

Jesus WAS NOT WHITE!!!!

He looked like every other Jew in his town which WAS NOT blond and blue...that only happened after they migrated into Europe.

He was most likly olive or brown skinned with nappy (not ***** nappy) hair, a full beard, maybe a ruddy appearance and looked more like people in their 50s now (as I expect they didn't age too well in the deserts of 20 A.D. or so.

Why does it make people mad to think of Jesus as another race...RACISM!!! Nuff Said!

Jesus was of middle eastern Jewish heritage. He wasn't white or black. He was dark skinned. Anyway, why does it even matter?

Racists don't like to share. The ethnicity of Jesus (and thus, of God in the flesh) has been used as a tool of discrimination and continues to this day.

Oh come on! If Jesus was violet with rainbow hair I wouldn't care. He paid my sin debt and it cost me nothing! Praise the Lord
