I have a very intimate connection with a guy friend, it goes beyond words, we don't even have to talk, and we meet physically only once a month at most. I am wondering what is that, is it love, and can it be broken.

There is no sex
And he feels the same way of course. A connection is never one sided, or else I'd feel the same way with many people on the subway.

It could be love. At least a form of it. Love comes in many forms, but the form that lasts is the one that is deeper than any physical attraction, more than initial butterflies, more than elation.

That deep love, though, over time can fade if not worked at continuously to become stronger and better. Love and relationships need work to keep them fresh and alive. So, love, my friend, is deep. It is being able to be so honest it hurts. It is a connection that says forever. And it is making the decision to stay with it forever as well.

When love fades, it is our choice to keep it growing and together and strong, or throw in the towel.

well, that's great that you can connect to some one like that. the best thing to do is to enjoy any time you have together. seeing each other less is good, because when you finally do meet you have a lot to talk about and to share and are just enjoing each other's company. so i say just enjoy it while it last so you have no regrets. and if it never ends than you must be in love. well good luck.

Yes, it can fade away or it can continue to grow and develop. Emotional intimacy needs to be maintained and nurtured.

Probably not. I went through the same thing. What has happened is that you may or may not necessarily be in love with him, but you are in love with who you become while you are with him. Kinda like the old saying he brings out the best in me, and it's up to you to know or want to know the difference. Good luck.

It sounds to me like it could be either love, or just two frineds with a lust for each other that will never develop into a real relationship.
Talk to him and see what he thinks.

Where emotions are concerned, they can most definitely be broken or end. It's always possible...when or if, one rarely knows.

It can fade, but that doesn't mean it will. And only you can determine if it's love or not.

It can turn into love.

It can also fade, or be eroded until it dies.

The question is, does he feel similarly?
