Its getting easier, actually. I could go on a killing spree today, then ask for forgiveness and get accepted. Or so they say....

because men are still trying to do 'something' to get there. The way the first law (dont eat) became two (don't eat and don't touch) which became 10 (10 commands) which became 482 (or some odd number that Israel had) and now we have an endless number of do this or do that's to get in.
Fortunately for us, we done got in, God gave it to us all through Christ. It is not our choice to go to heaven, just as we would not leave it up to our children to live with us or some other place, even so it is with us, we all get to go.

I was brought up Roman Catholic and taught two kinds' of sin. Realised their teaching was rubbish although I still defend the religion. Now answer me this. Say you have a friend and you fall out. That friend goes' around telling lies' (venial) about you which others' believe. No matter how much you try and get others' to believe the truth you cannot. You end up hated by everyone. Or say that friend kills'(mortal) you. You end up dead but you cannot be hurt anymore. Which one has done you most damage? It is not the sin that gets' people into hell but mocking God.

Getting into heaven is not at all difficult. JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN. Science can explain anything they want about creation or the theory of evolution, what ever you choose to believe. People have and always will try to disprove God. You can't disprove or prove. God is accepted by faith.
Knowledge is good but, wisdom is more precious. There is a difference. Ask God for wisdom.

It isn't getting harder. God (whatever your particular religion) asks people to try to live moral lives--help others--and try to do the best they can. The rest is window dressing--mostly for the purpose of putting money in preachers pockets. And that's no more or less the case now than 1000 years ago--or 2000 or10,000.
Science helps us understand more about the universe--but it says nothing about how to live, or what is "good" or "bad." Its only when we get the two confused that things start seeming complicated.

People make it hard on THEMSELVES to get into Heaven. Regardless of education and science, the irrefutable fact remains that salvation is attained by obedience to God's word and living a pious, sanctified life! It doesn't matter how smart we are or what we "discover", without obedience, it's all for naught!

Humanity will really be something to be proud of when we realise nobody is going to heaven - our education systems needs to be much better - all over the world and they need to be secular, not necessarily humanist. As an atheist I don't want anyone forced in to my 'religion' - people should get here through their own logic and reason.

well, you've answered your own question. humanity puts their faith and trust in what they can hear and see and touch instead of faith in the living God. It says in God's Word that man will do what is right in his own eyes. It's pretty simple: if you trust only material things you won't get to heaven.

It's really no tougher to get into heaven today than it was in times of old, even with all the technology and the realization of freedom. People simply have to make the right choices every single day.

It doesn't get tougher and tougher. The rules of behaviour haven't changed. Society has changed, and you either go along with the decline, or you stick to your way of life.
