I've only heard it used in reference to a Mexican - beaner meaning that they eat a lot of beans. I don't find it to be a nice term and find it surprising that a Mexican used it. I guess that's like blacks that use the N word- but get angry if anyone else does.

It's a derogatory term for a Mexican person. Although interestingly in a Cheech and Chong movie, Chong sings, 'Beaners ... eat beans'

"Beaner" is a somewhat derogatory term for Mexicans. It's been popularized by Carlos Mencia (Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central) so that even I now call them "beaners", something I never did before.

People wouldn't call them that if they didn't put beans in everything! Honestly though, they do make good beans!

Only Mexicans can call each other "Beaner". Any other use is considered a racial epithet.
