Quit sparring with Him. When God wants your attention, He knows how to get it. Do not pretend to be a Christian when you are not - FEET

Well, if there is a God, you would never loose touch with him because you are immersed in him. Everything is fundamentally influenced by his law and design from moment to moment. All things, even the negative, have an aspect of this divine nature on every level of magnitude. I try to keep this in mind at all times, although I don't call this underlying nature God, but Mind.

You're not alone. Each of us has had periods of highs and lows in our spiritual life. We share these thoughts with other Christians. We pray for one another and we ponder our lives. I think about all the blessings that we have come to take for granted.

I have running water - hot and cold. A dry place to sleep without fear. I have heat this winter without doing a thing for it other than writing a check now and then. I needn't worry about a drought or locusts in my garden. I can buy groceries 24 hours a day! Speaking of which, our greatest social problem is that we have too much food! How many people on earth have ever worried about eating too well?

Think about your own situation and what you worry about. Now go back and read 1 & 2 Kings to look at the famines, wars and fear those still godly people faced daily. And yes, we'll pray for you.

If you feel like you are losing touch, remember that all you have to do is "BE STILL and know that He is God." --Psalm 46:10

My Pastor advised me once when life became overly confusing and I too felt out of touch with God... He said to go back to the point where I knew I was on track, (Usually when I was reading His Word regularly) and sit there for a while. Just don't move for a while, pray and wait on Him, and let God sort things out and help you to get back on course.

You may spend some more time reading Sacred Texts, maybe go to a place of worship, do a pilgrimage, attend some meditation class or join a group of people studying the tradition you are interested in. Maybe you could try a week-end getaway, spending some time in nature to remind you of the beauty of God's Creation.

Not sweat it. Happens to everyone--it's just the ebb and flow of faith, a part of life. Getting all anxious over it will just make you waste time obsessing. Instead, you might try mixing up your religious routine a little. Just like any relationship, one with God needs some new stuff every now and then. Talk to friends, and maybe try some of the things they do to get close to God--praying, meditating, singing, taking a nature walk, whatever--even just try doing it at a diff time of day. Hope you feel better soon! And once again, there's no need to be scared--believe me, this happens to everyone. It's part of life.

Please remember that the apostles of Christ, as close as they were to him had weaknesses in their faith in God, and in him. Please note their request, which only they could work out.

(Luke 17:5-6) “5 Now the apostles said to the Lord: “Give us more faith.” 6 Then the Lord said: “If YOU had faith the size of a mustard grain, YOU would say to this black mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea!’ and it would obey YOU.”
--Did you note he said If You......" That meant somewhere along their line they were deminishing the strengthof their faith?
--In our case we must make sure of a few very important things in order to get more of God's holy spirit, of which faith is a fruitage:

(Galatians 5:22-23) “22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

The holy spirit as God's active force is what Jesus had available to him to do his miracles etc.
Things that go against having more of holy spirit as Jesus stated:
(John 4:24) “24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.””

--Thus truth is a must and our attitude toward God's things.- Are you sure of the doctrines you have been taught?
There should be no mysteries in our understanding of God's personality and Christ's position as the Son of God. If you keep in mind that "truth never contradicts itself"--that is God's truths. Religious "truths" that do not make sense are not , God's.

Many times also when we are fighting illness we can feel a weakness as to other things, but if this is the case note what Paul advised as to help we are getting even though we may not realize we are receiving it:

(Philippians 4:6-7) “6 Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”

Take a look at the wonders of nature all around you and then thank god for them as they are miracles.
