i tuned it in correctly, but she keeps on having problems, and called the tv man out, who says its because the box is the wrong one for the tv, as it only has one scart lead socket, could this be right, or is he trying to con an elderly woman. i dont seem to have any problems with it, when i visit her, or my kids visit her

to be honest with you that answer sounds total crap to me!! the scart socket is just a way to connect it to the tv. Seeing that your mother has a scart input on the back of her telly shows that it is of a good enough standard to receive transmission from the digi box. What I would suggest you do is swap your digiboxes between the two of you temporarily. Some do give a better output than others. If you are having the same problem as her, then it's the digibox. If she is having the same problem, it sounds like it might be her scart input. Try connectiing it this way
Aerial input>Digibox>Video>(using standard aerial connection) TV
She will need to control everything via the video channel but should eliminate scart problems

my TV only has one scart this works fine , so tell your gran to send the TV man packing he obviously don't know his job

as an after thought I noted when the box is on for a long time there can be some problems . of this occurs just UN plug the box for 5- 10 minits re attach power and it goes OK

I think it should only need two scart leads if you have to connect it to a video or dvd recorder as well as the TV

If she has any problems tell her to switch the wall socket off for a few seconds and then switch it back on again.
