How bad was the pain? And would you do it again?
I hate the feeling after freezing and I've had fillings done without. Wasn't that bad!

I have several patients who prefer to go without "the freezing." I'd say about 5-10% are this way. There are also times when I suggest that the patient might actually be just as comfortable without the shot, but that depends on exactly what needs to be done.

If your dentist is agreeable, you can just give it a try and see how it goes. The worst that can happen is that you feel it once and say that you'd rather be numb. You'd only feel the pain - if there is any - for a split second and then you'd know exactly what it feels like. If you DO feel it, you can discuss how much more drilling there will be and then make a decision about getting the shot or not.

I don't like anything to with the dentist so I always get frozen. My dentist used a new type of freezing this time that didn't make your mouth feel all swollen up and it doesn't last as long so to speak. It was pretty nice.
