We have been recommended that the daily allowance of salt is 6g and should not exceed. With help from the details on packaging from supermarkets we have been trying to achieve this. We have found it impossible to have breakfast dinner and lunch without exceeding the limit - any suggestions!!!!

if you cook your own foods it's almost impossible to get even close to consuming 6grams of sodium a day.

eating those processed and prepackaged foods day in and day out is going to put in in a early grave.

the body needs nutrients to perform at optimum levels, not artificial additives and preservatives...

It's all but impossible to eat a low sodium diet without eliminating processed foods. You can find reduced sodium versions of many processed items, but even those still have a lot. You need to cook things from yourself, avoid ALL prepared foods, and check the labels on everything you buy. Use no added salt when you cook or at the table. Replace salt with other flavorings that you like, black pepper, ginger, garlic, your favorite herbs, whatever.

It can be done!

Avoid the salt shaker, processed meats, and canned vegetables. There is a lot of hidden salt in these items. A 2 gram sodium diet would be optimum.
