Wouldn't you cry if you'd just had your nads off?

He's home sick. Just love him, feed him on a schedule (so he doesn't get fat) and get him things that will stimulate him. There is a wonderful toy that hooks onto a door and has an elastic string w/ a jingling toy at the end. My cats can't get enough AND he can play while you're at work.

Also try getting a large cat tree. That will help with climbing, clawing, and hiding. Cats are adventurous, give him some adventure and stimulation. They can be expensive but I've had mine for 5 (going on 6) years! Really worth the $$.

oh.. and this may seem silly but it works. There are videos to keep a cat's attention. Things like birds, bugs etc. They will sit and watch TV for hours. Google it, there's a pretty good variety.

It all depends on where it came from, and its age. If it is young and came from a group of kittens, and a mother, it is crying because it misses them. Also, if the cat was an outdoor cat, and now it is only inside, it could be sad because it wants to be outside, but if you want to let it outside, be careful because if it is new, and you just payed to have him neutered, he may take off. I would wait to let him out, unless you already have. If it is old or young, and had a campanion, and you took him away from his companion he could be upset and looking for them. There could also be a health issue, but I doubt it, It is in a new place, with a new "schedule" so to speak, being that its not used to being in new surroundings, it could be crying. Hopefully I did not bore you, and hopefully I helped. To comfort it, play with it, make sure he has foods, and give him treats. Also toys will keep a cat satisfied usually with something to do.

Really don't know if this works - although it worked on my girlfriends puppy so give it a go.

if you've got a basket for the kitten put a luke warm hotwater bottle and position a small clock behind it has to be a tick tock clock to work and not digital obviously and wrap it up in a soft blanket. put it in the basket with the kitten. It is supposed to fool the kitten/rottweiller that its mummy is still there. they snuggle upto it and keep warm and hear the tick tock heart like sound and everything is ok - hence crying stops! in theory.

Since you have had him only a week, that is not long enough for him to settle into a new area yet. Since you have had him Neuter he is probably having a lot of discomfort right now. Try holding him more and showing you love him.
Look at it this way if you went to a new home and got neutered how would you feel....Always put yourself in the place of your pet and sometimes you will answer your own questions...

When your cat is vocal all the time then there is a problem and he should be checked out by the vet. If there is not medical issues than maybe the cat is left alone to much and desires alot of attention when you are around.
If the cat is left alone alot you need to either consider getting a companion for the cat not to be lonely or lots of toys, treats and either TV or window entertainment.

The cat is confused and uncertain. He does not know you enough yet and he has had the trauma of surgery to contend with as well. Give him plenty of attention and reassurance. Cuddles, if he lets you, and small treats. Try to interact with him as much as possible until he gains trust in you.

He could be having urine crystals. My cat did the same thing. Take him to the vet to get him checked out immediatly. He might need a cathader that you sick up the you know what and drain it!! Good luck!!

umm ... have you fed him anything yet? ... just kidding

He needs to feel that this is a place to call home. So what do cats like to do? Answer: eat and sleep.

So one trick my dad did was set up a bed for it, put butter on it's paws, and it doesn't feel happy walking around with that ... it licks it off.
Now it just had a bit of feed and is by it's bed .... now it is home

Well, if its just a kitten, then he probably misses his mommy. But, if he's older, give him time. You've only had him a week. However, he could be in pain from being nuetered....so, maybe check with your vet.

How old is he? Is he by himself? I found with new additions, a ticking clock wrapped in a blanket where they sleep helps the most. It reminds them of their Mom, her heart beat. Good luck.
