There are some details that could change your answer...
- This was the only day we shared a free night (we work nights)
- Her son is a lil' less than a year old
- We've only gone out once, and talk on the phone often
- I don't really know her and her family well enough to ask myself to her house (she lives with parents)
- She doesn't really know my family to the point where I think she'd feel comfortable with my family watching her son
- We've talked about the fact that she has a son, and also that she would be my first girlfriend, so we agreed to take things SLOWLY
- That's right, she's the first girl I've been out with.

Honestly this is a very simple question to answer. The thing that you have to remember is that if you are wanting to have a relationship with her, you are not just having a relationship with her but her son as well. You have to realize that having a relationship with someone that has a child is going to take effort and patience on both parts. Plans will get changed, time will be hard to find sometimes to be alone. Also, the fact that you have only been on one date and are still working on going slow is not a problem. As things progress and you do realize that you are willing to make the effort necessary, you will start to know and trust each other more. As such, more time will become available and your families will hopefully become understanding and helpful in whatever way necessary. Good luck to both of you. If your willing to take the responsibility necessary of dating someone who has a child, then I give you respect of willing to step forward.

the guy above me is right; you need to be understanding. honestly i don't think it would be a good idea to date a mother on your very first try. it is very hard. if she is a good mother than her boy comes before anyone else in the world and you have to be patient and understanding of this. if you do have serious strong feelings for this girl follow your own advice and take it slow. after you get to know her better and her family you both will feel more comfortable being at each others house which will be the most convenient place to spend time for her. you will have to get used to the fact that it is difficult to find a sitter and that cancellations like that one will probably happen frequently. good luck!

Well, take it from a single Father it is hard when you are trying to go out and have a good time, but you don't have a sitter. Give her time, it sounds like the potential is there. You have to be very accepting and patient when dealing with her, if you dont then you will run her off and won't ever see her again. Good luck dude

well, this is not going to be easy for you. when you date a mother, you are getting into a relationship with her kids as well. when it comes to going out, be understanding if no sitter is available. suggest taking the baby along. even if the date is a walk through a park, or the mall if weather doesn't allow outside walks, at least you are spending time together and getting to know one another face to face. when baby gets a little older, look into finding an indoor playground or just go to the one at mcdonald's and have breakfast while baby plays. anyhow, dating a single mom requires patience and understanding. i wish you well

Being a single parent means making sacrafices... her life sometimes has to be put on hold for her child. Good for the 2 of you taking things slowly. Maybe you could try finding a date that you could take the child with... going to dinner and bringing the child with.

my best advice is you must have patience its hard being a single mom shes been through alot already. taking things slowly is ni\ce. I would suggest maybe next to\ime you two get the chance to have a date if theres no sitter in the picture tell her youd like to take the child with thats a big step but shell be happy with it it shows youre intersted in her and her child thatmay be the start to a great relationship.

Then do just that - take it slowly. And go out with her AND the baby the first couple of times. That will show her that you are interested in every aspect of her life. Then work your way into helping her find a babysitter - whether it's family or whatever.

Go out all together, you, her and her son. Go to a playground and have fun. Later at night the kid will fall to sleep no matter what... and babies doesn't wake up so easily... All you have to do is to buy a baby seat for the car that can be transformed bed....and of course the ordinary things for taking care of the baby, clothes, diapers, cleaning and milk

No. You do not need to start a family until you have been out with girls your own age for a couple of years. Give her up and find a nice single girl that has not had so much experience.

Well, there are always places that you can take her where a baby is welcome too. When the sitter falls through offer another option. Say, "hey I'd still really like to see you, how about we go for a walk in the park with the little one in a stroller?"
