I wouldn't suggest you try to service a digital camera. Look at your handbook which should give a list of authorised repairers in your country.

Only at the Authorised Service Centre.
Never give to Local Camera Dealers.

Actually, local camera dealers are where you should go. They don't do the service themselves, but they can ship it out to the Nikon service location for you, and they are used to dealing with Nikon.
