so you don't hurt anyone - people may have allergies & if they've had bleach / perm etc before you don't want to turn their hair green or make it fall out x

if someone has a contra-indication, this means that they have something wrong with their hair ie nits or a scalp condition like ezcema which is weeping on the scalp and you can not carry out a service as this infection or infestation could be spread to other clients in the salon or to the stylist. hope this helps

Because if the client had an infestation it could spread around the salon infecting every body else. Also if the client had an allergy this could be passedonto you through you cutting the hair.
