Depending on where you are located you can do what is called a reverse look-up. Here in Canada we have a website that has that option. You type in the phone number and if the person is listed it will give you there name and address. See link below.

This link is Canadian only. But perhaps you have an on-line diretory assistance (on the web) that you can access reverse look-up.

Try these two websites:

www.switchboard.com
www.anywho.com

Use reverse phone number look-up.

For added information: Cell Phone numbers and unlisted phone numbers are not accessible from these sites.

You can do a reverse lookup on most internet phone directories. If it's an odd number, a toll free number, etc, try this address:

http://whocalled.us/list/

You can also do a tricky thing like blocking your number (*67) before you call the number. They can't tell who's calling.

You could always go to a public phone box and phone the number and see who answers it, or ask them who you are speaking to

type the phone number into the search bar on Google and if the number is listed Google will give you the name and address.
