I would imagine that mom would recognize her pups, but pups may have a hard time recognizing mom.

I wouldn't think they would. I have a dog that hadn't seen here brother since they were 7 weeks old and that was 5 yrs ago. She didn't even bother with him. She just kept sniffing the ground and ignored him.

I am not sure - when I had a staffordshire terrier she was the most gentle and loving of dogs and never went for any other dog but when I went around my friends house with her (I had the staff from my friend and her dog was the father) she went nuts - she growled and barked and her lip was right up - it scared me cos I had never seen her like this before and that was the one and only time she ever did it - quite strange

We groom some of our old pups when they come back and sadly mum will sniff them but they dont react like humans do, she will not interact, they do however remember me as their handler and its always funny to see the faces of new mums and dads when their little baby runs to me and I get smothered with huge kisses.Dogs sniff the rear ends of their fellow friends and foes to test receptiveness and family bonding but that is as far as it goes.

I doubt it... when a human baby is separated from it's family at an early age it can not recognize them later on.

If they do recognize eachother, they don't show it. They will act as if it is just another dog.
