LCD tv's have a relatively slow refresh rate, and that is the ghosting you are seeing.
That is why the CRT technology (old fashioned TV) is STILL the best picture quality. I have seen this, and know many who went in, bought a great LCD, took it home, and just were not happy with watching sports etc.
Just wasn't worth the 2000$!
Until SED technology comes out the best picture for normal viewing is CRT 36 inch HD tv. If you really need a bigger picture, a rear projection TV in a dim room is second best.
Then LCD.
While Plasma does have great picture quality, its HUGE power use should be enough reason to avoid it! It is a 400 Watt or more monster!
You will have BIG electric bills if you watch a lot.

No you shouldn't have any ghosting - have you tried tuning the channels better? Or try running your TV through SKY NTL etc - you'll find this may help. Other wise theirs not much else you can do & i doubt if you bought a PLASMA you would be very happy either, the logos burn holes into the screen - you don't get that with a LCD!
Or if all else fails buy a decent TV! ;)

Ghosting? Yes the ghosts came to our neighbours house at about 12noon last week. Kicked the front door open, walked in and took their 42 inch LCD. Neighbour saw everything took down the van number but guess what................it was a stolen vehicle! Our neighbours didnt have nets on their windows and the tv could be seen clearly from the pavement!!!

any flat panel TV usually has ghosting when it tries to show fast moving stuff
This is called the response time
the shorter, the less ghosting
Plasma have less than LCD
The only thing with no ghosting, is good old CRT

I think probably they do to some extent. The response time is what you want to check regarding ghosting. Lower response time, the better.
