You can wash it whenever, no wait. Think about it, they wash your hair at salon immediately following the coloring or highlight. If it wasnt a good idea they would not.

Also you may want to try a special shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair. They have stuff that keeps color longer. I use Biolage color care. There are other brands cheaper & more expensive. It is proven they hold the color longer.

If you rinsed well after coloring, you can wait a day or two, just be sure to use a special shampoo for colored hair and a good conditioner.

I was always told by my hairdressers that I can wash it whenever, there really is not time limit as to when but I do use a for color treated hair shampoo & conditioner. My color doesn't fade.

I was a master colorist and hairdresser for 12 years. I taught haircolor. You can wash it right away if you want. It is perms that you are not supposed to shampoo because the curl could fall. Note: they shampoo the color out. They DO NOT shampoo a perm out. The cosmetic base of haircolor has a shampoo component.

I try to wash my hair every other day to preserve color...use a color treatment shampoo and conditioner and watch out for too much heat while styling your hair...

After I dye my hair I wait one day before I washing it again, because I have really oily hair. One or two days seems good, longer if you don't mind oily hair.

24 hrs is usually fine, I am always getting my hair colored and when you live in NYC you have to wash your hair everyday as it get disgusting from the fumes.

at the time of service...colour is applied, allowed to set for a specified amount of time (10 minutes, 20, whatever) then the excess is rinsed out and followed by a shampoo.
