Hi there...the sudden change is the likely reason why your kitten is expeling her food. As you've recognized changes need to be done gradually in order to minimize bowel distress which can be either or a combination of vomiting and diarrhoea. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?dept_id=0&aid=100

In the meantime consider feeding canned food to help hydrate her and slowly mix in the dry food to ease her into the new food. Most cats can tolerate canned foods fine and this may help her less likely to expel what she is eating.

I have a 15yr old cat that will puke no matter what kind of food you feed her. It's not her fault or mine, we did try everything at first. It just came down to much wet food and her eating to quickly. By mixing more dry food then wet, it really helped. She actually won't be sick....unless there is just way too much food in the dish. Then she just chomps down like tomorrow isn't coming and she gets sick.

It may be a food thing with your kitten, but don't feel bad if you find yourself at a loss. Some animals are just like that.

Be careful in changing your cat's food in such a drastic manner.
IF you're going to introduce new food to your cat, do it in portions. For example, mix small amounts into your cat's old food, in small portions that grow bigger each time, with the old food portions gradually disappearing, until your cat is comfortable enough with the new food.

Also, cats usually throw up from eating too fast. In turn, leave small amounts of food out during the day, so that your cat never feels like its starving or extremely hungry.

Good luck :)

if you change her food again, do it gradually. Sounds like you may want to change it, the way she's going sounds like she might be having a bad reaction to a flavoring or preservative in the food. Call your vet for advice if it continues for another day

order the original food online or if not then u might need to take the cat to a doctor to find the right food to get.

i does no longer kill it yet i'd construct some kind of massive catnip ball and roll it faraway from the city, i'd finally end up a hero and get a significant bright medal and the kitten will be another city's difficulty. the great :)

I volunteer @ animal shelter & we have learned anytime you switch a cat food they are used to it can make them really sick because they are not used to it.
