Sho-nuff asked why created physical bodies, but I wonder why would a god create us at all? Does he/she/it really need us that bad? What need is satisfied by doing this?

Edit: Heaven's Messenger - Why does god need people to glorify him?
I'm not arguing your point, I'm just wondering why you think he/she/it needs such attention from self-created psychophants? It doesn't sound like a very admirable trait...

Edit: Anno - I hear you. But why create us if he wants us to worship him, yet has to overlook so many errors to make that happen? It really doesn't make much sense.
Why does he/she/it need such praise?

I've been thinking it is the same reason why we create machines.
To do things for us that we are incapable of doing.
God created angels to do the things he was incapable of doing
God created man to experience the things he was incapable of experiencing, perhaps.
I don't know. I'm just trying to apply philosophy to theology.

well, if I was God and was all powerful I would get bored and so I would create humans just for the fun of it. You know when you create something you feel proud of it and take care of it because you made it with your own hands. I think he decided that he wanted someone else to experience the joy and pain of existing. There's a quote that goes something like: " the best way to learn is to teach" so, if we apply this quote into this situation it would say something like: " the best way to exist is to create"

God doesn't need us at all. He is just fine on his own. God is fully self sustaining and self sufficient.
We were created so God would have something or someone to show his great characteristics to. God made man after His own image. For some God will show how Just and Pure and Holy He is when he casts them away from him for eternity because of their rebellion against Him. For others, who are called by him, God will show his great love, mercy, and compassion.
In this way God will always and forever be glorified. We just choose which way we want to glorify him, by being with Him or against Him.

who created you....a god? how can you be sure that it is not just yourself who creates your "self" in every single moment? do you need your "self" so bad that you can´t stop creating it? if you are the only one who can create that question, where is the space for a god as a creator?

When wrought to prefection the human body, intellect, and personallity will be used to express Gods vision of himself. "God dwells within you as you".You have union with God in unconditional love within your heart. As the colors of the rainbow are contained within sunlight, so to are we all contained within the light of Gods unconditional love.

God NEEDS nothing and nobody. He loves and wants us, but it will be wrong to think that he NEEDS you. People fail to realize that they were created not to Question, not to Suggest, not to Imagine, BUT to glorify God, PERIOD.

He doesnt need us. He wants us....he created us....He gave us a free will to choose right from wrong, with consequences. So think of freedom...He gave it to us so we choose heaven or hell not him.

God created us all for a reason. Because we are destined to live and die on the world he created for us.
God is good.
