No. If you believe in Christianity, you also believe in the inherent interdependency of man. The gifts are to be used to glorify the Father and with no need for others, man would take the credit unto himself. The only "person" who could've was Jesus himself.

Probably but for one who does it is a very lonely road. People especially Christians do not like either prophets (cuz they can see into ones heart and no one likes what is there) or challenging teachers cuz a great teacher wipes away all ones rationalizations as to why its really not OK to continue with that one tiny sin they are so attached to.

Therefor while there are such people they will likely be hard to find because the gossips will commit acts of character assasination on them and will be generally rejected and fear being nailed to a cross because although they get the gifts even Jesus sweat blood upon realizing what humans can and will do given the opportunity, and since the job He was sent to do has been done why would a person open themselves up to the cruelty men dish out when by observing these men it becomes obvious that even if they are loved, for the most part they are incapable of change.

So if you are writting because you think you have all the gifts take this advice seriously. Find those who truly appreciate you regardless of how you feel about them and do not leave them behind because there will come a time when you wished you had not lost them in the jumble of life. You will really regret it if when you get old you can no longer find these regardless of whether there were reasons at the time you thought they were a pain for whatever the reason was.

You see those who would want you isolated and stripped of any input when you are older will know that when you are younger they, you will be dismissed as irrelivant because of your age, but when you are older there is more weight given to your opinions and you get better at asking questions which penetrate and you will not be able to stop yourself from asking those questions that uncover the truth from those who have hid it from themselves, cuz thats part of the gift, thus the statement "do not look a gift horse in the mouth" which has been turned into something about presents of a material nature, but was originally meant about the gifted person in ones life who tells you things you would rather not have heard.

God bless you and good luck

Gifts? What, like Santa Claus?

Boy, am I confused! I'm beginning to get the impression you're only a Christian because of some form of bribery. But that can't be right, surely?

Actually, wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude and knowledge sound pretty good. I'm just not so sure about the piety and fear of the Lord.

But returning to your question, since they are gifts, then why couldn't one person have all?

Unless you are talking about charismata, in which case, no. They are awarded according to the need of the church, so I doubt all would be provided to a single individual.

Let us understand what the purpose of these gifts were. The apostles were given these gifts by the Holy Spirit for what reason. To confirm that the word they were preaching was true. All those on whom the apostles laid their hands could do these things. When the apostles died and all those on whom they laid their hands died, the gifts stopped because1( only the apostles could pass it on) and 2 the word was confirmed. No one today has the miraculous gifts spoken about, but all of us have talents which God gave us to use in His service. We must rightly divide the word of truth. Hope this helps you.

The Gifts of the Spirit are LIMITED BY THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD!

(1Corinthians 12:11) But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally = = as he will.

Thanks, RR

How can you? Are you collecting the set or something and then once you are perfect you will move onto another religion, get all their 'graces' and so on?

Even in these religions, it is an ongoing process, not a race, so quit worrying about getting them and start doing things that might lead to them being bestowed upon you.

Should they exist, I hasten to add, but nevertheless, less chat and more action.

I think what you may be referring to are the "fruitage of the spirit" mentioned in Gal. 5:22,23 "On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law."

If that is what you are speaking of the answer is yes, though it is not something easily achieved. Yet it is something we should all strive for.

there are no limits to what GOD can give HIS servant.... so i would say yes.... HIS blessing is upon HIS people.... i personally believe that no one can say no to this question because we do not know how GOD wants to use our lives and the ministry HE has for us... alot of us do know our calling and we have gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT but sometimes GOD wants us to receive more...
