My bf (of 2 months) gave me a promise ring (sterling silver). Its cute, but I don't even know what it means to me. Is this bad?

You should ask him what it means for him, because if you draw your own conclusions, you might get your expectations too high, or too low and someone might end up hurt. In my opinion, a promise ring is simply a commitment (dont get scared it's not as bad as it sounds lol) but just a commitment that one makes when u start a relationship.....like respect each other, trust, no cheating....all that good stuff. Nothing major like "I wanna marry you" just simply a commitment to one another to make eachother happy :D

you should have asked him what it meant when he gave it to you. If you dont know, just ask. It probably does mean something good. the promise is probably love, commitment, and happiness.

it not bad unless you are having doubts with your relationship. Give yourself and your boyfriend the time to think about what is the most important thing in your relationship. Maybe then u can figure out what it means to u!

Not really if you really like him. He is saying that he wants to be your steady boyfriend and may not be ready for a serious commitment now but he would like to in the future.

no, you might just wanna ask him wtf it means, cause wtf is a promise, before he gave it to you he was probably seeing multiple women, and now he promises only to see you. lol have fun
