The belt is the remains of rouge comets and planetoids torn apart as they pass the larger, outer planets. These planets act as cleanup for our region of space. That is one of the reasons that Pluto is no longer considered a planet, because it doesn't have enough gravity to perform these tasks. I imagine, since man was meant to live forever, and will again, as we filled the earth and moved out into the universe, the belt would become used as raw material.

God intelligently designed EVERYTHING, SN, even you and that brilliant (no sarcasm at all) mind of yours.

Even if that brilliant invention is what's actually destroying you. See what I mean? Sometimes, what's designed for good can bring about bad. It's a delicate balance.

Be blessed and stop thinking your way out of salvation.

"Stop thinking your way out of salvation."
LOL.

I'll think for Cheryl, since she's obviously incapable of and unwilling to do it herself.

God "intelligently designed" lots of other pointless things (like our appendix), so why stop there?

"Let's see. I'll make this planet spin all retarded-like on its side... and a huge belt of rocks over here..."

I guess he felt he had gone a bit overboard with the billions of cubic light years of space he created for us, so he decided to fill it up a bit.
