Pumice is mildly abrasive, with the fast motion of the rag wheel it is used to polish your denture after adjustments are made to smooth any rough areas left behind. In the dental office, most all of the stains and tartar are removed by use of a dental solution and an ultrasonic machine. Hope this helps.

PS. You would not want to use an abrasive material on your denture, too much can remove acrylic and can ruin it. Call your dental office and ask them if they can clean it for you, we usually do this at no charge and while you wait. Also ask which cleanser to soak them in, most of us in dentistry suggest Efferdent for stain removal.

>pumice has an agent that helps take away stains... but if you really want your denture to be cleaned and pumice can't cleaned it anymore because the stains are too heavey maybe it's time to change you denture...

>and sometimes there are other factors that stained the denture like smikong, drinking coffee and other stained foods... maybe you better stay away from that food because it stain your denture... also remove it at night when you go to sleep... and soak it in water with salt or soap to remove the dirt
