Diclofenac sodium is reported to cause gastritis and aggravation of peptic ulceration and hence it is always prescribed with an antacid like ranitidine or omepreazole .

It is a good drug for temporary pain releif but not for long time usage . If the back pain is severe enough it might warrant infrared therapy or ultrasound therapy or even traction after appropriate investigations .

The problem with diclofenac sodium is when it's given to animals which are later eaten by vultures. This should not be an issue if humans take it.

I have taken Diclofenac (Voltaren) every day since May 1990. Without it, I cannot walk. I was not aware there was a problem with this medication and I have a great team of doctors who say it's the best for my rheumatoid and osteoarthritis.

i dont know that but i know safer alternatives they are do yoga which can reduce your backache atleast for 5 min a day or if you are too busy to spend 5 min a day for you try ONTAC GEL[ointment] it doesnt have any side-effects and can reduce your pain easily.
NOTE:dont rub harshly but apply smoothly where you are getting pain anywhere upon your body but dont eat it and dont allow it to go into your body it is dangerous.
