Ok, today, I asked the guy what he meant, and, he said he is terrified he is going to hurt me.... so, instead, he is dating a girl he isn't even interested in.

When somebody says "I'll think about it", they usually meant that they plan to put aside time at some point in the future to contemplate a subject you have raised with then. If you like your friend, the boy probably will too, "I'll think about it" means "I want to make sure my friends/parents approve of the idea too". Why would you put a question like this online? It seems terribly personal.

It means what it means. I've been attracted to men before and told them the same thing when they asked me out. The reason is that my expectations and their expectations of what goes on in a relationship are entirely different. Even though I would be attracted to a man, if he and I were too different then I wouldn't bother getting involved with him.

I think it could mean that he feels like he is not good enough for you or compatible with you. I think it means just what it says..that he doesnt think he can make you happy...You guys should really talk about it if you think you may have found someone you could have a good relationship with. I hope everything works out.

It means he doesn't want to be with you and does not know how to express his feelings. People often turn things on another person when they don't want to, or don't know how to, take responsibility for their own feelings. It's much easier to say that you won't be satisfied with him - that absolves him of the responsibility of making the decision as to whether or not to get together. It's much harder to tell a person that you don't want to be in a relationship with them. Or - if you *really* want t know, you should ask him. Say that you don't appreciate him telling you who you will be happy with. That's your decision.

It means hes trying to say he wants to end the relationship because he either is no longer attracted or has found someone else.

I t means he has low self esteem and is afraid to try to work on things with you b/c he is afraid it will fail and ruin a friendship. Really what it all boils down to is fear and cowardice.

It's the old "it's not you it's me" excuse that basically means "I don't want to be involved with you, but don't know how to tell you nicely". Forget him.
