Solomon lived about a 1000 years BC so that would be the date of it. It was apparently written about a love relationship that he had with a woman, some think the Queen of Sheba. It is one of the most beautiful symbolic pictures of Christ and His bride (the Church) but is a very deep book, not easy to understand. One of the best writings was by Hudson Taylor, a missionary to China in the late 1800s.

It is generally believed by Bible/Torah scholars that Solomon wrote Song of Solomon (according to the first verse). This song is one of 1,005 that Solomon wrote (1 Kings 4:32). The title “Song of Songs” is a superlative, meaning this is the best one. Solomon wrote this song during the early part of his reign, mostly likely. This would place the date of composition close to 965 B.C.

About 3,000 years old. Solomon ruled over Israel for about 50 years. It was called The Golden Age of Israel. They threw him out for Idol worship. He commanded an army of demons.

I am unsure of its age, but its origins are pretty obvious. Sounds like two people had some serious "mutual appreciation" for each other if you know what I mean.
