I believe he's legit, but that we in the west are so brainwashed by our culture that many of us can't accept the idea of miracles still happening. I doubt if Christians in Nigeria or Latin America are so put off by him.
I also believe people (especially Christians) should be very cautious about touching God's anointed. I used to have problems with the Word of Faith movement, and though I thought I had verses to back my position up, I learned the hard way that God wouldn't put up with me attacking the various WoF pastors.
UPDATE: veritas459a who posted above me seems to have confused Benny Hinn with Peter Popoff, although if he can provide a link to back up his claim I'd be glad to read it.

I've been to see Benny Hinn many times in the fifteen years of my life. The last time I was there, I experienced the power of God more than I ever have before, I could literally physically feel the power of God burning in my hands when I had fallen under the power and immediately began speaking in tounges as the Holy Spirit loosed my tounge. The people who are slain in the Spirit of God are no actors, I tell you from experience. Many people on television put Benny down and say that he is all about money. People tithe Benny Hinn Ministries just like they would tithe any other church. I'm sure you probably even tithe your own church. The money he gets goes toward the enormous work of setting up his crusades. For example, when he preached in India, there for over 7 million people who showed up, and there were 65 screens set up for miles around so that everyone coul watch! Millions of people have come to Christ through his ministry and it makes me sad to see so many people, even Christians, who put him down. And if you do not believe that God still uses people to lay hands on the sick and heal them, here is a verse for you. It is very simple to understand. Mark 16:17-18:
These signs will follow those that believe.... In My name they will lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Notice it doesn't say that only the twelve disciples were given this authority. It says anyone that believes.

About 5-years ago, a news crew did an investigation of Benny Hinn and his so-call ministry. Benny's wife went disguised into the group before the start of the campaign and spoke with some of the participants. One said her sister had cancer another said her mother was in the hospital, etc. His wife had a radio transmitter on herself and Benny had a receiver!
Benny would say, the Lord showed me that there was a woman from [and name the town] whose siste had cancer! The woman would jump up and say, "My Sister!" And this went on and on!
When the news crew broke the story, Benny was forced to shut down his ministry for about 18-months into seclusion. He said that He was taking A Sabatical to hear from god!
The Bible says.....
(Matthew 15:14) Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Thanks, RR

He's a farce.
Benny Hinn does not preach everything according to scripture. He's uses a lot of psychological tricks... The music, the mania...
Test his teachings against scripture and you will see.
I'm not saying there are no miracles in the world but his proclaimed miracles I would have be skeptical.
No one should be above questioning. God invites us to test the spirits of those who claim to followers of christ.
Matthew 7:15
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Matthew 24:11
"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Matthew 24:24
"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

I'm a Christian. I think it's possible that some people are healed at Benny Hinn's ministries. It is not through Benny Hinn's faith, but it is through the faith of the sick person that God will have mercy on them.
In Acts, after Jesus died, Peter would heal many people. Some people had the faith that if they could only be near the shadow they would be healed. Jesus said many times something like "by your faith you are healed".
And we do know that even hypocrites can do great works in the name of Jesus...
Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

While I believe that God does heal people...Benny Hinn seems all show to me. But I leave most of the judging to God. but he has been known to be dishonest and lying in the name of God is...a pretty serious sin.

human beings do no longer do the therapeutic, that is in common words God. We see him contact those that come on level and our view falls in direction of the guy, yet I do believe that all and diverse is healed and that i have been to a marketing campaign and in my opinion sense the ambience is ideal for God to artwork, that is by technique of religion and ones own believing interior the contact of God...Benny Hinn, makes use of motivation of worship and this brings the spirit of the Lord on the fringe of do what He chooses. Be blessed.

No... As a Catholic, of course I believe that faith can heal: primarily the soul, but even the body at times. That is why we have the sacrament of the sick. But this is always conducted in a dignified and usually private manner, conscious of the spiritual needs of the sick person, mindful of Jesus' usual way of not making a big show about it.
But spiritual healing is a compliment to medicine practised by doctors, and not a replacement for it, and certainly not an outlet for the desperate. Final unction may heal... but it may prepare the soul for what is to come. It is for God to determine the time of our calling.
I think televangelist faith healers who indulge in undignified public spectacles are doing a great disservice to frightened people in need of healing. They oversell faith healing as a kind of replacement medicine. And these guys are working hard for their own glory performing their alleged "miracles" in public.
For it is paramount for their religious business that they be seen doing miracles, and for them, that is more important than actually doing any. "Truly they have their own reward," as Jesus might say.
