Who says it is messed up. Just because things change, doesn't mean it is messed up. Perhaps this is the power of creation, taking the old and making something new. Your question assumes a lot.

The universe isn't screwed up. All things have an end, same with stars and planets. Also, consider the infinite size of the known universe. Man and this planet are a atomic particle in a grain of sand on a million mile beach. Insignificant except in the minds of men.

It is the nature of things to be born, to live, and to die. Just as this is a vamperic world for everything feeds off of something else. The fact that humans are willing to destroy things for no good reason other than we think we can is a sad thing that must be overcome. We must save our planet... it is the only known source of ingredients for coffee, chocolate, and beer.

Consider the everglades in Florida. They are drying up and dying because of small changes that "man" made. Things that we do, even things we consider "small," can have catastrophic effects on the world. Then there are times when God has to wake us up or put us back in our place. Seems like we would learn after a while.

I don't notice the stars and planets smashing into one another, yet. The universe is made of matter, it is just taking its natural progression, from whatever force, that set it in motion in the first place.

If everything in the universe is destroyed, why are we here?

All heavenly bodies move through space, not aimlessly, but according to precise physical laws. (Isaiah 40:26)
