Does it really work that fast? I mean i do feel smaller already and i am not following any strict restriction of carbs....i just think of them kind of like a dessert. What do you think?

It's not unusual to drop 5-8 pounds when starting a low carb diet Sugars come in the form of bread, fruits, juices, pasta, rice, potatoes, candy, sweets, milks, etc. When you eat carbs they turn into sugar in your body called glucose. This sugar/glucose is stored in the muscles for future use. When your muscles are full of glucose you eat even more sugar, it turns to fat. So basically, your muscles could be full of "liquid sugar". Once you stop eating sugars, the muscles release what they had stored (within a week or so), and then the fat is used as fuel. The initial weight loss is "liquid sugar"
(My husband dropped 6 pounds in a week by cutting out breads and sugars)

i am usually a normal carb eater... but one week i cut out pretty much all carbs and i lost 3kgs in one week. i did about 20 mins exercise each day aswell, i am not positive whether it was the lack of carbs or if i had an overall reduction in calories consumed. however since then i have had a more healthy diet of low fats heaps veg and fruit and healthy carbs (eg. wholegrain and rye bread) i have lost 6 kgs in 5 weeks....good luck people.you deserve to be happy with yourself

If you cut back on carbs yesterday, or this morning, then no, it really doesn't work that fast. If you are talking a few weeks, then yes, it's possible to see results in a few weeks.

It sounds like the carbs you were eating (wheat maybe?) could have caused you to feel bloated. If that went when you stopped it may have been because you have an intolerance. I think you should still eat carbs but don't touch wheat if you can help it.
