From seven to 10 hours if it's non-stop.

Remember that Canada's the biggest country in the world. And you may have stops en route.

Remember that flight times can vary with the type of plane -- many long-distance planes have only two engines nowadays and they must be within so many minutes of a landing strip in case of emergencies which in turn affects the route they take.

If you have to catch a second plane from Toronto, beware. It's one of the world's more confusing airports.

For eastern Canada it can often be better (and cheaper) to fly via Detroit which is a particularly good airport, albeit with a bit of walking involved.

For Western Canada it can often be bettecheaperr to fly via Chicago.

For connecting flights beware of the dreaded Jazz -- makes Ryanair and Easyjet look like 1st class on luxury carriers

It look me 7 hours to get to Toronto from London, and 9 to get to Calgary from London. The same path GOING to London (from Calgary) only takes 8 hours because of the jet stream.
