It seems like many Christians on this site have not been reading their bibles, what with all the hate they send out?
So... my fellow Christians, do you really think that insulting Islam, being vaguely racist/xenophobic is the way of Christ?
Remember:
Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Or do you think Jesus was off-base with saying this and you, perhaps, know better?

Look, I'm a Christian, and I'm not talking about ALL Christian, I'm just trying to make the point that some of us on this forum who identify with Christians are being pretty disrespectful... which (in my mind) does not help in the service of spreading the message... I believe one should share one's faith with compassion, the object is to enlighten, not to insult and drive away by setting a hateful example.

There is noting wrong with judging if you expect to be judged the same way. When I say someone, say Islam, is antichrist, then I expect people to look at me and see if I am antichrist. One can love the sinner but hate the sin, as Christ does.

I agree with you 100%. I believe the number one reason most people are turned off to Christianity and the Bible is because most people who claim to be Christians are exactly the opposite. The would be better suited with the name people like them had in the Bible times, "pharasies". They are all about religion and tradition but they don't follow the most important rules; the ones which you have quoted.
I believe that if more Christians actually acted like Christians then there would be more people who would believe in od and be on their way to heaven when they die.
The only way to be a good Christian is to represent Christ here on earth and 99% of Christians do not do that.

It is also duely noted from the Christian community that many of us and non believers misuse this quote more often than not. I cannot tell you how many times this quote is used out of context.

We are also to judge the sin and not the sinner.
We are also to look at the plank in our own eyes, and not try to take out the speck of dust in someone else's.
We are to judge one's actions to see if they are of God,

Christians, or everyone for that matter, should judge on a moral standing, but not place themselves above everyone else. This quote, do not judge... means that if we are to judge we need to judge by God's standards and not our own because if we are to be judged we should be judged just as harshly by our own standards, but using God's judgment, He issues Mercy and Grace and love.
Many Christians misrepresent this quote, but so do non believers, and please note, that when you posed your question, you judged all Christians, you will find, that some, not all, take the moral highground beyond reach, while others still do love thier neighbour as themselves

Its not only Islam that they insult, if you notice. They insult everyone that isn't Christian. And its because they live by their bible when they choose to. The rest of the time they ignore their bible or twist what it says so that it supports them being cruel to others. They talk about people taking things about of context but they do it themselves constantly because its the only way they can justify their behavior.

Amen! There's nothing that irks me more than self righteous christians, that think they know everything, and they have the power to decide who's going to hell, and who's going to heaven.

Not to mention, Judging others is considered a sin, and last time I checked God judged all sins equally.

It's not hard to understand. Jesus was saying to never judge a man or a woman by what you see on the outside. Only God knows the heart.

Why even bother? They have a quote for everything. No matter how bad their behavior - they have a quote making it perfectly OK. And they still wonder why people think them hypocritical bores.

They also still wonder why people see the entire Bible as a bunch of contradictions. There are opposite quotes for about everything.

I do love my brother as myself. I don't want myself to be mislead, and wouldn't allow myself to believe in myths, I wouldn't allow myself to continue in sin to end up in hell.

Paul admonished this to Timothy concerning Scripture, notice the RESULTS of the list:

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for REPROOF, for CORRRECTION, and for training in righteousness,

preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; REPROVE, REBUKE, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

Jesus ALSO said in John 7:24 Do not judge by appearances, but JUDGE with right judgment.”

0:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. (10:34-36)
I came not to send peace, but a sword. ... A man's foes shall be they of his own household."

10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
