OS X, hands down. The unix-based design is more secure, the interface is better, the stability is unmatched, and it's cheaper.

The video linked to above is great- Make sure you watch it! One of the things about OS X's interface is that it's been polished for several years, whereas Vista's copying of the interface is still going to need some work (like a couple of service packs).

Also a new Mac with os x will also include iLife, so you have a great suite of media tools- and they're included with the computer.

Journalists have done the price comparison thing now that Macs are intel based and have found the prices to be quite comparable for the hardware- if you were to add in some aftermarket software to the windows machine to make it do the things that mac does, it ends up costing more.

Ah, the age old question, mac or windows. I myself prefer the MAC OS much much more than Windows.

Depends on what you are doing, MAC is preferred for graphic intense applications
