OK I just got a new tattoo. I have been using the standard A@D ointment and all, but I am not noticing any crust over or peeling. ( its been 3 days) It has alot of color so Im not sure if that slows things down. My other tattoo began peeling within like 2 days so Im not sure if this is normal or not. It is starting to get a slightly roughened texture to it but nuthin like my first one so just curious about if this is all normal.

my tattoos never start peeling at 2 days. i got mine done on saturday and i haven't got any scabbing yet. it will probably start to happen tonight or tomorrow. don't worry about it. your skin will start the scabbing and healing process. just let it happen as it is supposed to. good luck!

i was told to use lotion and not to use a&d.. i guess different tattoo artist give different ointments to use.. I used cetaphil it worked great.. i just got a new tattoo about 1 month or so ago.. i have about 11 tattoos and noticed that it makes a difference where on your body you get it.. the one i just got is located on the back of my neck and took a while to heal..mostly because its a place where your body sweats and is exposed to the sun.. so maybe you got this tattoo somewhere on your body where it may take longer to heal or maybe it wont peel as much..

A&D ointment draws out the color of a tattoo and takes longer to heal. You want to use Tattoo Goo. You can get it at your tattoo shop or on their website. Anything that has a petroleum base is not good for a tattoo. It suffocates the tat and draws out the colors.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Do NOT use A&D , or any sort of antibiotic ointments, it will in some cases cause dulling of your color!
I dont know why people use that stuff!!

You need to go buy Aquaphor (its in the lotion aisle at any drug store) And apply a small amount enough to have a thin layer over the tattoo.

after using aquaphor for about 5-6 days then you can stop that, and start using lotion, make sure its NON ALCOHOL,AND FRAGRANCE FREE

i do not suppose any tattoo parlors could permit minors. there is also location had been folks tattoo however now not professionally and that is rather detrimental. i learn in an editorial that one lady bought a tattoo at her peers condominium and it bought inflamed. her foot swelled up and her tattoo used to be coming off of her epidermis. if you happen to do get a tattoo, recall that you're going to must reside with it ceaselessly. lasering off a tattoo could be very high-priced and it is extra painful than getting a tattoo. you could desire to attend til you are older to get a tattoo and get it performed professionally.

I have 3 tattoos and only one of them ever peeled. Like everyone is saying, different parts heel different. Just because this one doesn't peel doesn't mean it isn't ok.

Did you use A&D ointment on the first one? Different parts of the body will heal differently.

Different parts of the body will heal differently, but it sounds to me like you might be putting TOO much A&D on. I suggest giving the tattoo more time to breathe.
