I am also planning on proposing to my gf and trying to figure out when the best time would be to do it. I already have the ring. It just so happens my birthday is coming up. Would it be romantic to propose at the end of my birthday after spending the day together and she's given me my birthday gift, etc. and say something like sweetie, you've given me an excellent b-day and I love everything you've given me and done for me, but there's just one more thing I want for my birthday...I want to spend the rest of my life with you...then pop the question.

what do you think ladies?

Hmm, it's a sweet idea, but it kind of hinges on whether she actually gives you a good birthday. I'd be more inclined to tell you to do something special for *her* (take her someplace romantic that's special to the two of you) and then propose.

Your birthday is all about you. I think you should make the day you propose all about her. Buy her flowers and take her out to a nice dinner, it doesn't have to be expensive. If it's nice out go for a walk or, it available where you are, take her on a carriage ride. If the weather is bad or there are no carriages where you live propose after dinner, or after the drinks arrive. You can make the proposal special by letting her know just how much you cherish her and you can't imagine life without her. Pop the question and she has to say yes! You sound like a great guy, not many guys propose anymore, she found a gem!

ooo I like that one. Maybe go out for dinner at a restaurant where you know the waiter and have him bring it out with dessert and as people sing happy birthday to you. she will notice the ring and then you could pop the question. Just an idea. Good luck and congrats!

That is so romantic. I think that is a great way to propose to her. Especially if you play up the whole one more thing you want for your birthday and that is for her to be your wife. I think your gf, and hopefully soon to be fiance, would love it. Good luck. :-)

I think she would be tickled pink!!! I know I would at least! What a thoughtful, loving way to ask someone to marry you. And to top it off- no one would be able to forget the day you proposed!!
