whenever i get home and i'm watching tv or just sitting down on the couch she always lays on the floor on her back with all 4 legs up...sometimes I think she's hot so i turned the heat off, but she does it everyday! What does that mean?

It's a form of greating. The ultimate compliment that a cat can pay a human. This body language shows how much he cares for you and how comfortable he is around you. Reveiling his stomach shows how secure he is. He could also be asking for you to stroke his tummy or to play. If he sleeps on his back that means he trusts you in the stratosphere.

I tried to put a harness on one of my cats,the first thing it did was to go on it's back with it's legs sticking straight up,and I mean straight up,he looked so funny I broke down laughing.Never did wear that harness.

You cat is demonstrating its affection for you and looking for you to interact with her. This is an invite of sorts -- a kind of "Welcome home! I'm your cat and I'm still here!"
See if she is incline to have her belly rubber -- some cats find this very pleasant and respond well. Be careful though, this is also a quick way to over-stimulate them; they tend to grab onto you if this happens.
Either result you should be flattered. It shows your cat is happy, healthy and confident in its surroundings. Sounds like you're a good "parent". Hope this helps. -- Andy

I agree with the guy who said rub my tummy. Contrary to what most people believe, not all cats hate their stomachs touched. My cat literally falls over and wants me to rub his stomach. He loves it....

when a cat lays on his back and shows his belly to you, he is signaling complete and utter trust to you... it is also a sign of complete subservience. Your cat has apparent;y decided that you are the alpha cat.

if a cat exposes their belly to you it means they trust you since that is a very vulnarable (sp?) part of their body. does your cat like belly rubs, some cats do, mine live for them. maybe your cat wants a belly rub.

She is probably showing submissive behaviour. My cat likes to have her belly rubbed and does that.

my cats do this too! i think it means they're glad to see you & want attention, it's usually accompanied by a couple meows & an expectant look (with mine anyway). whenever i pet them they start purring & get all content.

My 14 week previous kitten "Misa" is hilarious. I were given her in basic terms days after i became in a vehicle coincidence and in basic terms about died. those previous few months she has been there for me and makes me chuckle or smile familiar. i'm a school student and became lonely living by technique of myself till I were given her. i'll inform you each of the lovable/humorous issues she does: a million.) even as i'm napping she "grooms" me. She licks my scalp, eyebrows, and eyelashes(highly if I have mascara on) and any component of my body that has "fur". She is so unusual. She loves to suck on my earlobes and nestle in my hair. each so often she will be in a position to even lay on her lower back below the covers jointly with her paws resting on the blanket like I do. that is lovable. Oh and in many cases even as she's laying there she rolls round jointly with her the front paws sticking up and it feels like she is doing Michael Jackson's "mystery". Lol. 2.) after I come living house from college or artwork she is ideal at my feet desirous to be held. If I slump down she will be in a position to even leap into my fingers. that is the sweetest concern. If I walk previous without choosing her up she will be in a position to start up crying and meowing till I provide her loves. 3.) even as i'm cooking or washing dishes she ought to be on the counter or on my shoulder observing the action. she will be in a position to climb up my legs or leap from the kitchen table to face up there! 4.)
