Why is it that when women are standing in a quee for the bus or waiting to pay for something at the supermarket they wait until the get to the front of the quee before searching through their handbag for their purse????

I dont mean to be discriminate against women, and I know men do it as well, but it seems to be more women than men that do it!!

Why not look for your purse whilst queeing and get your money ready??

Same reason they wait until the lights have turned green before reaching for the gearlever, then the ignition key 'cos they've stalled because they forgot that they'd put the handbrake on, then the handbrake, then the gearlever again to check it really is in first and not third, then the indicators because they forgot that earlier as they just about get through the lights on amber as they change back to red to leave you fuming!

It is as simple as this - they are so busy doing that "multi-tasking" thing they claim we guys are no good at!!

It is annoying but it is the safer way to shop. I had my wallet ready in my hand whilst waiting in a queue and got robbed! The same thing happened while I was waiting for a taxi, but this time I put it in my coat pocket. Now that was truly annoying.
What is more annoying is being stuck in a queue with a sales person who takes five minutes to scan a loaf of bread, or driving for half an hour to go shopping and getting there and nearly everything you went for is sold out. Even worse is shopping for clothes. I hate dawdling around and I always seem to get stuck behind the diva who hogs the changing room, trying on two tops and spending half an hour deciding whether she want them or not. Also having to put up with a trolley that is broken cos it's the only one available.
And don't get me started on internet shopping. I hate shopping and thought that buying online would save me a lot of stress. After spending about an hour or so going through every item looking for what I needed, (@tesco.com), I was told I couldn't pay by visa electron. As I had no other card I could use I had to cancel it all!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!.

Something my mum hated as well. She would have money out by the time she got to the register. I am with you and her. People like that take just that much longer to clear off, hold up the lines, and in general are real pains in the a*rse.
I can understand if it is an older person who may need a little help (I once knew a very old retired design engineer and physicist who was still brilliant in mind, but needed a bit of help with the little things, like counting out change. His hands simply didn't work as well, and his eyesight was going. I never minded waiting behind him in a shop. It is the young ones that irritate beyond words.

I'm a female and this drives me insane too! It's almost like they are surprised that they must pay at the end of the line, then starts the writing of the check, searching for the credit card or exact change. I think it's mostly due to the fact they don't care that other people are behind them. Personally, I do a quick tally in my head of what the items will cost and have that money or credit card out and ready to pay. My mom is a former purse searcher, until I pointed out how much time (hers and other peoples) she is wasting.

Some women have these great big purses, with many things inside.

They need to prop the purse bottoms against something before they fish into it for their wallets.

Women do it more often becuase it is harder to find a purse in a large handbag than it is to find a wallet in your back pocket. It is annoying really, they've got plenty of time to get things ready. Winds me up.

Sometimes my hands are too full to be able to get my purse out early. However, it really annoys me when the shop assistant expects me to pay for my shopping before bagging it. Please let me put it away first as it's not just a couple of bits!

Unfortuanatley in this day and age people worry about opening bags and purses until at counters or till because of the worry that someone might snatch something from them

Because we usually carry more then just our money in our purses so we need somewhere to rest our purse in order to look for our wallet .

Oi - this is my pet hate. It always happens to me and yes it is women on the whole that do it. I always make sure I have my purse ready if there's a queue. Why can't everyone else???
