My husband's family is from one state and my family is from another state. He wants to be buried with his family and vice versa. I would like to be buried beside of my husband so how do we come up with a Happy medium? We are just preparing for our future and were going to start looking into plots and things so this topic came up.

Do you have children? You may want to make it easier on them and find a place where you live to be buried together.
Honestly... your spirit is going where ever you believe it will go so where you remains are located after you die is just logistics.

Good question! Just 'my' opinon so don't get the wrong idea. He is your family now and of course you should be buried beside your husband. I believe this is a disicision he should make. I know you didn't ask for it but my "ex" and her husband bought a lot beside me. Been divorced for 14 years and still can't get away from her even if I die.

Think about it this way, when your dead you won't care where your body is. You can have two plots in both areas, just have your bodies cremated after the funeral service, and half the ashes go to one state funeral, and half goes to the other.

Or you can each decide to be buried in your own state and forget about being buried next to eachother.

Same thing with me and my husband. We both agreed to just be buried with our families. I dont mind if we arent right next to eachother... rotting. Who cares... because we will both be in heaven together. This earthly body wont matter anymore.

I agree with "Alexia", but mix both the ashes together and then divide them, and they can still be together in two different states.
