Sure more people die from General Anesthetic from all surgeries in this country than the surgery itself! Thats why you sign the waiver.

you most likely will not receive a general anaesthetic for wisdom teeth removal. You should only receive a local unless there are extenuating circumstances. If you are frightened your anaesthesiologist can give you a mild sedative prior to going under. Afterwards, do NOT drink out of a straw, smoke, slurp, or suck anything. You will develope a painful "dry socket".

Don't worry. I just had hand surgery and I was more worried about the anesthetic than the surgery. Everything went well but I was nauseated afterword which is pretty common I guess. Be sure and ask them for somethiing to keep your nausea at bay before you go in, you probobly won't remeber to do that afterward. Try to use some relaxation techniques before you go in and while you are in the chair waiting, imagine yourself in a calm place you love to go to or someplace you love to be. Concentrate on relaxing your whole body and take some relaxing breaths. You are going to be fine.!!!!!!!!xoxoxo

I was put to sleep when I had my wisdom teeth removed. They gave me versed, I think, through an IV. I went to sleep, and then they were waking me up. It seemed like I was only out for a minute.

Melissa is an idiot. This rarely happens now in MAJOR surgery. The technology for a general has come a long way even in the past decade.
