Actually, I've been the victim of just such a commitment-phobe. She went out with me for a long time and we even moved in with each other for awhile, but suddenly one night she didn't come home. She went out and spent the night with a complete stranger. She never even thought it was a big deal. Felt like crap, of course, but I learned a valuable lesson.

No because the doubts will always be there about them and those doubts will inevitably grow bigger and bigger until you start hating yourself for carrying on with it in the first place and being so insincere not to admit to them or yourself it wont work because if your negative in the beginning god knows how you will feel in a year unless those doubts disappear which I doubt!

Yes and it didn't work out. Both of us ended up being hurt by it in the end, so I don't think it's a good plan.
