I'm not a doctor but I'd say you also have an anxiety problem, with low self-esteem. You're not a freak. If you are, then I am! You may also have bi-polar disorder, too, a little bit. I've been exactly where you are before, but I always feel as if nothing I say or do is good enough. I've never seeked help beyond my regular doctor, just seems pointless to me!

You had shitty parenting and a poor example set for you as to what you should be and do... Either abused or spoiled i'd say from the sound of things.
Get over it, grow some balls and move on with your life... Is the attention you get from people feeling sorry for you (or pretending to) REALLY that much more valuable to you than actually going out and doing ANYTHING to actually enjoy yourself?
When you become uncomfortable enough with yourself and your state, and stop seeing mutulation as an option... (eventually you realize that it is useless and doesn't help anything.) Then you'll get up off your as*s, go to the gym, work out your stored up mental and emotional energy and take care of it yourself because that is all it really is!
When you get depressed, you get that way because your mind has more energy than your body and you overthink everything and use that as an excuse NOT to do what you need to do to fix it. No one likes to exersize... Believe me, you could benefit from a good solid hour of cardio! It sucks... yes! It's hard... Yes! But when you take all that energy that your body has laying dormant and stored as fat.. and use it... the improvement you see will change your life! Human beings are creatures of habit and you can stay addicted to pity and cutting or tell your mind what it will and will not have and get yourself addicted to heath and fitness... Everything we do and suffer over is a choice... You know! No one is holding your head down and making you depressed but you!
Lazy, spoiled, self loathing, pity party of a girl... Stop hating yourself... Know that you are just as good as everyone else. You are! Under all that avoidence is a beautiful person!
Stop cursing the dark and light a freeking candle! Yes, it IS that easy! It is your life, your mind and your decision. Take control of yourself one little baby step at a time and make things change!
Only person who can help you... is you!
Harsh? Yeah well sometimes that is exactly what you need... Maybe the people who profess to love you think that it is a better idea to coo and coddle you... The truth makes you free!

Usually cutting is a form of releasing your pain to a certain degree. It's almost like a high to do it. People that cut have usually been hurt by sexual abuse. They tend not to feel good about them selves. It's almost like an alcoholic, habit forming. You need to get into some therapy, or support groups with people that have the same issues. You can over come this, and no your not alone, or crazy, this is a problem for alot of people. Try to release the pain by doing other things that don't harm you.Like screaming, hitting a pillow etc.. Focus on good things, start small, enjoy life and don't worry about stuff. Remember success started as one small step... in the right direction.. Good luck to you

I keep saying the same thing, but it's true. Depression and anxiety are symptoms of a physical problem, not the problem itself. Have you ever had a completely blood scan done to test your hormones? See if you have any of these symptoms: depression, anxiety, moodiness, tearfulness, anger/irritability with crying jags that pop up out of nowhere, developing phobias, shortness of breath, weight gain, feeling generally down, heavy, useless, unmotivated, dull, and basically not particularly giving a crap, and sort of wishing you'd die soon so you don't have to deal with this sh1tty life?
It's not a mental problem, - it's a physical imbalance that can be fixed within 3 weeks.

Never heard of not being able to work because the doctors are "scared" you'll end up worse. Getting out and actually doing something would be the best thing for you. You have WAY too much time to sit and think. You need to get out of your own head. You sound severely bipolar to me. If you have questions about your treatment, then you need to talk to your doctor or get another opinion.

Sounds more like severe food allergies than depression or something else.
Have you had any toxicology tests performed? If you consider it, be sure they take a hair sample, as that's the most reliable way to look for allergies.
I would investigate that avenue before thinking it's all you.
Check it out and good luck!

Many people that have depression also self-mutilate. Sadly, it's very common. You're not alone!!! Counseling and medications would help. Good Luck!

well you've been diagnosed with depression, probably recurrent major depression. this accounts for all of these symptoms. all you can do is be totally honest with doctor about your actions and feelings so that he can set you up with the right medication.
