I have a government job.
Staying awake at my desk seems to be my only task.

Gum: Chewing is not an automatic response like breathing; this means that if you are chewing, you can't be asleep. So having a piece of gum in your mouth gives you something to focus on and will keep you awake.

Stretch: I have a half-height cube, so stretching at my desk really isn't practical, so I slip off to the bathroom or an un-used conference room and do it there.

Mental activity: Welcome the Yahoo! Answers. Doing finding the answers to some 13yr old's history homework doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling at the end of the day, but if I have a purpose for my aimless surfing it helps me not nod off.

Inter-Office Affairs: Nothing keeps you on your toes like cheating on your spouse/SO. (Ok, just kidding)

Walking: Find a good excuse to go to some other part of the building. Maybe the bathroom on the 4th floor has better TP? Does the 3rd floor have a better view of the parking lot? E-mail is great and all, but why get an answer in 3 seconds when you can go ask in person?

Hope these help.

You need to start exercising and eating right...and getting plenty of sleep at night. That will be enough to give you energy all day everyday. Or find a job that is a little more exciting.

Do you have access to a soda machine?
Coke, Pepsi or a Dew.
Get up and move around. Near a window? Open it, fresh air is always good.

Take a walk. At least stand up and stretch. Drink some tea. Here are some office excercizes: http://exercise.about.com/cs/exerciseworkouts/l/blofficeworkout.htm

One of the easiest ways to wake yourself up is to get the blood moving. Stand up...... stretch...... bend over and touch your toes..... reach for the sky...... get the blood flow going again.

Wake up GF! :)

play a prank on your co-workers...or bang your head on the wall really hard and it will push the thought of you being tired to the back, and you will forget about being tired.

Are there any guys around you that you can start teasing?
Or would that be sexual harassment?
Never mind.

chew something, like gum or sweet, that will keep you awake, or go to the bath room and wash your face.
