Here are a few thoughts:

Wildfire - This is a great choice

Flight - small plates (tapas) and wine bar - can be a little expensive.

RA Sushi - if you like Sushi

Mitchell's Fish Market - if you like fish, this is a newer place.

Ted's Montana Grill - good steaks and such, kind of a family place

Lalo's - Solid Mexican in a good atmosphere.

Description: In the Chicago area, this style of Italian restaurant is known as red sauce Italian. Not a poke at credibility, just as statement of fact. The menu is a sea of pasta and veal and chicken dishes that are dressed with some type of red sauce. This leads, then, to dishes like chicken and veal parmigiana. That having been said, we kind of like the red sauce made here. Nice family place with red-checked tablecloths and a gardenlike atmosphere.

Cafe Lucci
609 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Glenview, Illinois 60025 USA
Cross Street: Central Rd.
Phone Number: 847-729-2268
Dress Code: Casual
Hours of Operation: Lunch Mon.-Fri., Dinner nightly
Average Price or Price Range*: $$ (under $35).
Cuisine: Italian.
Payment: Credit Cards Accepted.
Description: Over the past several years this kitchen has had more ups and downs than the stock market, and you know what kind of havoc that can wreak. We are happy to report that Café Lucci has found its groove. The usual suspects are here---insalata Caprese, pasta, chicken, veal---and a few additions like tomatoes stuffed with lump crab meat salad and calamari with spicy tomato sauce atop fried polenta. For the most part, we have found little to quibble about. Okay, it does happen that pasta goes past al dente now and again, and service can lag when the place is full, but in the main we enjoy the Italian experience when we are in this neck of the woods.
