This is all normal with the flu. 103.5 is not emergent. The emergency department could not have done anything for you if you had gone. They would have given you Ibuprofen and maybe some IV fluids, possibly a script for phenergan for nausea and sent you on your way. Unfortunately it viral and something that will have to go away on its own. If you start having shortness of breath and a fever 104.9 or higher than seek medical advice.

Unless your over 65 years old(which in that case call the doctor) just start drinking lots of fluids, water, juices, broth and take Tylenol for the fever. Flu always makes me shaky .. like my knees are rubber.. I hate that!
My family had it last month and my husband couldn't go to work for 4 days ,for him to take that much time off he was really sick. He could still eat but he was very weak. My daughter had a fever for at least 2-1/2 days!
Just rest, make sure you have lots of fluids and take the fever reducer. Oh and go lay down sitting in front of the computer is going to make you more tired.
If it makes you feel better call the urgent care number and tell them how you feel they can tell you if you need to go in or not but they can't do much for flu.

The virulence of several conventional diseases like malaria and flu have much increased in recent years, they say... if malarial parasites have developed resistance to several drugs, the flu virus could have developed more virulent races too..

Anyway, it is quite a debilitating disease and Drs say now vaccines are available to prevent an attack and the vaccine affords protection for one year.. One may take the vaccine before the seasons favourable for spread of flu virus..

In any case, don't please take medicines yourself; better see a Dr... Your resistance power etc may not be as it was when you were younger... Further good (safe /powerful) medicines are now available and a hospitalisation may not be necessary if there is no imminent complication...

Your sitting in front of the computer so obviously it's not that bad. Take some Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or Theraflu and go back to bed.

That's why it's important to get a flu shot. Flu can kill. Go to the ER.
