I understand that you need a passport to travel, but I don't know what the requirements are, what the background checks are looking for, grounds for denial are, etc... I also know that each place you want to visit requires that you have a visa. Do many countries (England, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, India, etc...) deny entry for people with felony convictions?

What's the general process, etc...?

Any help would be appreciated, we are trying to figure this out quickly! THANKS!!!

It kind of depends upon the requirements for a visa to these countries. If the visa is implied (tourist visa) then you should be able to enter. However that doesn't mean they don't do a check on you

First things first. Get your passport. Because no matter how much information you get here and the assurances you get, you will need that document first before you can do anything else. And if you are denied a passport, all the other questions are moot.

You cannot get a visa if you have a felony conviction Unless it is over seven years old. That is as long as they keep the records except for Violante crimes. Then it is kept longer.

You may NOT leave the country until you are successfully discharged from formal parole.
