i have yamaha keyboard with headphone facility however connecting headphones does not ut out sound like it should do . I also have amplifier with following connections, dab tuner, tuner, cd, tape/aux, d.v.d and phono the amp also has headphone facility anyone know if i can connect keyboard player to amp and if so which connection please there is also speaker connections on both keyboard and amp

Yes, you should be able to connect it to your amplifier, but you must have an audio out on the keyboard. If you do, link it to any of the input of the amplifier EXCEPT the phono one (there's a special filter at the entrance to enhance the level for vinyl disc). So check if you've got a RCA output (for example) on the keyboard, or another one, and buy the cable to link the audio output to the amplifier's input

I would not recommend plugging your keyboard into a stereo system amplifier. But if you wanted to try, make sure you use the amp output from the keyboard and not the headphone or speaker output. Use the tape/aux input and keep the volume on the keyboard low. But as I said, I wouldn't recommend it.
You should be able to get sound out of the headphone output on the keyboard. Try increasing the volume on the keyboard when the phones are plugged in.
You should be using a musical instrument amp. Much like a guitar amp that is geared towards keyboards.
