i would have been pissed that i got together with someone who was too immature to say something to my face. i would think, "wow, i got with an immature coward who can't own up to things ever in his life"...but then again, we officially got together over a text message too...so i should have seen it coming.

I was dumped over text message... Actually that was the day when I haven't seen him for a whole month, so he texted me just to know how I was first and I was so glad. But then it turned out that he just wrote to let me know we're finished. Well I cried for the whole night... I also went over to his place after that to talk about the matter, he looked confused and upset, but told me he didn't love me anymore... What a humiliation... Time passed and now I am once again happy and in love! ;-) So don't worry, everything that comes in life is for the best, you will meet 100% a guy that you really deserve! Good luck! Treat yourself, spend more time with friends, that will help you to get over him :-)

well, personally i like to use these methods to dump guys. it allows them to go on with their lives thinking whatever they want about why i did it. i have one guy who thinks that i have a fear of opening up and getting close to men, and another who thinks i am an evil witch who was cheating on him. when in reality, the first one was just bad in bed, and the second one (out of nowhere) just became so irritating to me that i couldn't stand to hear his laugh or watch him chew or listen to him breathe. this way, in their minds, it is totally my fault. if i would have done it in person, an argument would have ensued and i would have said very hurtful things. then they would have gone into their next relationship feeling self-conscious.
so, i guess when it's my turn to be on the receiving end I will go on with my life thinking that he's a coward and he broke up with me because he can't handle a real woman.
everyone wants "closure" but, that is assuming there is a logical and understandable reason for everything.

first hes chicken and was to afraid to see you upset because he didnt want to feel the pain of the break-up.
Second, I'd be really upset and angry. Really angry because you didnt get a say. People breakup that way because they don't want to give the other person a chance to sway them back, obviously his reasoning was not good otherwise he could have stated his case and walked away intead of hiding like a child.
NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.

hurt they didn't have the balls to tell you to your face yet it just shows what a coward they were
this happened to my step-daughter. She was so upset. She got to school and hung up all over the commons area notes as to how big of a pu*** he is.

You should have had the chance to react in person. Now you feel cheated of closure on the relationship. That will make you harbor negative feelings longer. IF you let it.
Do NOT let that person wreck your day/week/month...
Choose to move on and NOT be a victim.

it is kinda cowardly. but sometimes it's the only option. because of distance. i think it just really depends on how long you were together. if a guy i dated for three years broke up with me through text i'd be pretty pissed. but what if it was a guy i say dated for a week...not the same i guess..
