Ok were gonna make a filtration system out of any materials that you can find, and you can only use 1 coffee filter and anything else. We can't use pre-made filters sutch as a fishtank filter. And it has to have 3 layers of filtration, any ideas?

use the activated carbon pellets if you plan on drinking this stuff, but for clarity and cheapness the sand/gravel method will work.

One obvious filter material is charcoal. You might put a sand layer on top to catch any coarse debris without clogging the charcoal. That should catch most filter-able stuff.

this is an old one, stones pebbles then sand at the bottom,
three sizes of material. ive seen it done . murky water in the top, comes clearer out the bottom. you need a container or tank with a tap or valve at the bottom to release the clearer water. ,that you pour in the top
