You can give them a little bit of wet canned seafood. They shouldn't have hard food because they could choke on it . The best food for kittens is milk. There is special milk you can buy in the pet store for kittens. It should say the age so you will know if it is at the right age for kittens. Milk gives them healthy and strong bones so they need it to be strong. Soon your kitten should be drinking water as they grow up. After atleats 2 weeks, stat putting little amounts of water in the milk until you only have water. They will get used to it.

Actually, depending on the age of the kittens, before 4 months old, you can give them any kind of kitten food you want. If it is dry food, just put a very light about of milk or water in it to soften it up. It really depends there if you are wanting them to eat wet or dry when they are older.

At about 3-4 weeks of age a kitten can be introduced to solid foods. I buy dry cat food that is specifically for kittens. and wet it with water to make it softer for them. Until eight weeks of age, though, kittens need to be nursed by their mothers. after that they can have strictly "solid" foods. I usually keep on wetting the dry food until they get better at chewing.
I hope I have helped.
OH! one more thing, don't be alarmed if your kitten gets so enthusiastic when starting solids that she eats big bites too fast. It will probably make her gag. All kittens do it.

A dry kitten chow is great as canned food will give kitty the runs if it eats too much and also fresh water. DO NOT give your kitten milk unless it is a kitten replacement formula or brand made especially for them. They do not digest milk very well.

Most cat food producers make specialist kitten food - don't feed your kitten normal cat food until they are old enough. Take a look at all the packs in your local food store and you will find what you need. If in doubt you can always discuss with your vet.

If your kitten is 8 weeks old or under, it will feed off of its mother's milk. If the mother has died, or is unable to nurse her babies, you should purchase a cat milk replacer. DO NOT FEED REGULAR MILK! I recommend Whiskas brand CatMilk for cats. It has all the nutrients and vitamins of regular mama's milk, and cats love it! Even adult or senior cats may enjoy the taste of fresh, warm milk once again. If your cat is 3 months or older, you should start him or her on solid food. I suggest Meow Mix dry Lil' Nibbles for kittens. Feed only a small portion of the dry food. For canned food, try Friskies Special Kitten formula for the first 9 months. If your cat does not like the taste, try Iams Canned for Kittens. Guaranteed for a happy kitty!!!!

I use Iams dry kitten formula. It is approx $8.80 at Walmart here in Canada for a 4kg bag. My kittens really seem to like it. For a treat I buy them cans of wet food and give them some of that. I would stay away from the "cheapest" cat foods as they are not as good as Iams. Good luck

I work at a pet shop where we get kittens in everyday. What I find that works well with all kittens is Purina kitten formula. Iams is the next choice but some kittens can not digest it and it gives them diarrhea.

I'd consult your vet first . Usually dry kitten food from any of the usual cat food manufacturers is fine, don't get seduced by the more you pay the better the cat food, that's bs.
If your vet does recommend some meat chunks, warm them up in the microwave . No milk , no seafoods like tuna , salmon til they're a year or probably never.
And absolutely NO people food.
